February Progress

How amazing is the Hellebore! This purple beauty blooms during the late winter to early spring period when many other plants are still dormant. The leathery evergreen leaves give a year round interest to the borders at the front of the house but the purple flowers make an appearance just after Christmas. The prints are one of the first of the year and their popularity is a challenge because I just can't bear to cut them!

The days are visibly beginning to stretch now and the shoot from last month are stretching skywards too!

The garden is now filled with birdsong, the blackbirds and thrushes are especially vocal. Exciting times ahead!
